ANTELOPE ISLAND, Utah, Sept. 27, 2019  (Gephardt Daily) — A 22-year-old woman was injured Friday when she was charged by a bison as she hiked on the Lakeside Trail on Antelope Island.

The lone bison was near the trail when it charged at the woman.

Details on the full extent of her injuries were not immediately available, but officials said she had a fracture to one ankle and may have been gored. Her injuries are not considered life-threatening.

A medical helicopter responded to the scene because of the remote location of the injured hiker.
