SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Sept. 30, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A woman was transported to an area hospital with a suspected broken leg after she was hit by a truck in Salt Lake City Monday morning.

Salt Lake City Police Department Sgt. Keith Horrocks told Gephardt Daily the incident occurred in the area of 780 N. 900 West at 6:48 a.m.

The truck driver was southbound on 900 West approaching a crosswalk at 800 North. The woman was in the crosswalk, but she was wearing all black and had headphones in, Horrocks said.

He added there was no traffic light and no stop sign at the crosswalk. The accident occurred around half an hour before sunrise.

The driver of the truck did not see the woman, and struck her. She was transported to an area hospital by ground ambulance.

The driver stopped at the scene and is cooperating with police. Horrocks said it’s not thought impairment was a factor in the crash.

Gephardt Daily will have more on this developing story as information is made available.
