Woman Involved In Stolen Vehicle Crash Loses Unborn Baby

WEST VALLEY CITY, UTAH – November 4, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – A woman who was injured in a crash involving a stolen vehicle last week lost her unborn baby in the accident.

According to West Valley City police spokeperson Roxeanne Vainuku, the crash occurred Thursday morning around 1 a.m. Officers attempted to stop a stolen vehicle near Valley Fair Mall but chose to call off the pursuit. A few minutes later that same vehicle collided with a barrier near the 2100 South freeway.

The driver of the car, Abhishek Kumar, 22, and all three of his passengers Anderson Trolson, 23, Natasha Lucero, 25, and Catrina Dominguez, 33, were transported to hospitals. Both Trolson and Kumar were in critical condition and transported by medical helicopter, while Lucero and Dominguez were taken by ground ambulance in stable condition.

All of the suspects, with the exception of Dominguez, have since been released from the hospital.

Dominguez, who was pregnant, lost her baby as a result of the injuries she sustained in the accident.

Vainuku said charges in this case are pending  as soon as detectives receive the driver’s blood test results. “Once those have been received will the detective will screen the case for all potential charges at once,” Vainuku said.
