MAGNA, Utah, July 15, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Unified Police are investigating the stabbing of a woman Sunday near Magna Copper Park.

UPD Sgt. Melody Gray said the woman told officers she had gone for a jog between the park, at 8950 W. 2600 South, and the Copper Club Golf Course.

As the woman was jogging, she was confronted by two or three individuals, one of whom may have been female. They attempted to rob the woman and then stabbed her more than once.

The attackers didn’t get anything in the robbery attempt because the woman had nothing with her, Gray said.

After the attackers fled, other people in the area saw the woman and she told them what had happened. They called the police.

Gray said the victim was transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Police have not released her identity.

Anyone who witnessed the attack or who has any information that could help police with this case is encouraged to call UPD Dispatch at 801-743-7000.
