LEWISTON, Utah, June 3, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — A 52-year-old passenger died after the pickup truck she was riding in was broadsided by another pickup in rural Cache County.

According to a report from the Utah Highway Patrol, Ronda A. Alder, of Preston, Idaho, was riding in a 2000 dark green Dodge Dakota just after 7 p.m. Thursday. The extended-cab pickup was traveling east on 1600 South, approaching the intersection with Main Street, in Lewiston.

The other extended-cab pickup, a 2001 red Ford F-250 with a male driver, failed to stop at a stop sign, and entered the intersection, striking the green pickup broadside, on the passenger side.

The green pickup driver and Alder were transported to Cache Valley Specialty Hospital. The driver sustained minor injuries, but Alder died at the hospital.

The driver of the red pickup suffered injuries that were not life-threatening, and was taken to Logan Regional Hospital.
