GREEN RIVER, UTAH – July 17, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – A Denver woman died after the driver of the car she was a passenger in,  fell asleep at the wheel and slammed into a semi-trailer truck Thursday afternoon.

According to Utah Highway Patrol, the driver was eastbound on I-70 in a Ford Fusion around 1:30 p.m. when he apparently fell asleep. The Ford smashed into the rear of an eastbound semi trailer. After rear ending the truck, the Ford went off the road and rolled several times in the median.

A female passenger, Molly K. Jensen, 21, of Denver, was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle. She died at the scene.

The male driver wasn’t wearing a seat belt either  but stayed inside the vehicle.

The semi driver was not injured.
