Woman struck by South Salt Lake Police car

SOUTH SALT LAKE, Utah, Sept. 20, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — A 30-year-old woman struck by a South Salt Lake Police car as she crossed a road early Wednesday is being treated in a local hospital.

Gary Keller, South Salt Lake Police Department spokesman, said the woman, crossing the street at about 2978 S. State St., “stepped into the path” of a patrol car and was hit.

The woman was transported to the hospital in critical condition, but has been upgraded to stable. Keller said the victim is expected to be released from the hospital on Thursday.

There is not a crosswalk where the woman was crossing, and the area is poorly lit, Keller said.
