SUNDANCE, Utah, May 23, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — A 55-year-old woman died of blunt-force trauma due to injuries sustained on a zip line at Sundance Mountain Resort, officials said Monday.
The Utah Medical Examiner said that Lisa Lambe, from South Carolina, was pronounced dead Friday at the Utah Valley Regional Medical Center, in Provo.
Lambe was riding a separate zip line with her husband and did not reach the bottom with him, said a statement released by the Utah County Sheriff’s Office.
The statement said Lambe was found by zip line operators and brought to the end of the ride, where North Fork Fire Department Paramedics treated her and transported her to the hospital.
Sheriff’s office detectives returned to Sundance Monday to continue their investigation. At this point, officials are uncertain exactly what caused the injuries to Lambe, but information will be released as it becomes available.
The incident happened at about 5:30 p.m. Friday. Lambe was on the last of several spans in the Zip Tour excursion.
Sundance Mountain Resort issued this statement after the incident:
“While participating in the Zip Tour excursion, a female guest lost consciousness and died shortly thereafter.
“It is Sundance Mountain Resort’s policy to respect the privacy of our guests, employees and their families during this most difficult time, Sundance Mountain Resort cannot provide any personal or confidential information. Utah County public safety may be contacted for any further details on this matter.
“Our thoughts and prayers go out to the family and all of those involved.”
