Officials release name of woman who died in Provo fire

PROVO, Utah, June 2, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Officials have identified the woman who lost her life in an early morning fire on Friday.

Donna Clegg, 47, died in the blaze at 1455 S. State St., according to a Facebook post from Provo Fire and Rescue on Saturday.

It was previously reported that Clegg had medical issues that may have prevented her escape.

Fire crews were dispatched at about 4:43 a.m. Friday, after neighbors reported smoke and flames coming from a building at 1409 S. State St.

One man suffered smoke inhalation, firefighters confirmed, but he was not seriously injured.

The structure that burned previously housed a video rental service.

The cause of the fire continues to be under investigation.
