SLC police searching for suspect after woman threatened with knife, thrown from window

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, June 12, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — Salt Lake City police are searching for a suspect after witnesses said they saw a woman being thrown from a second story window, and she said a man had been trying to stab her.

The incident occurred in the area of 1365 S. Emery St. (1175 West) at approximately 9:55 a.m. Monday, the Salt Lake City Police Department said in a news release.

“Several witnesses in the area reported hearing a woman scream followed by the victim being thrown from a second story window,” the news release said.

“The victim was bleeding from her arms and legs and claiming that a man was trying to stab her.”

Witnesses stated that after the victim was thrown from the window, a man left the area on a bike and the victim returned to the apartment. Officers responded and located the victim in the apartment.

“The victim stated the male had chased her around the apartment with a large knife and threatened to stab her,” the news release says.

The suspect is believed to be an acquaintance of the victim. He has not been located at this time.

The victim was treated on the scene and refused transportation to the hospital.
