ROY, Utah, April 13, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Roy City Fire & Rescue responded to a house fire Friday, and pulled a woman from the burning residence.

The fire was reported just before 4:30 p.m. in the area of 5000 South and 2825 West.

“Arrival report was heavy smoke and a victim still inside,” a Facebook post from Roy Fire & Rescue says. “… fire crews were able to make a quick search inside the smoke and fire filled home and located the home owner and pulled her out. Homeowner was transported to an area hospital in critical condition.”

The family was displaced by the fire. The cause of the fire and damage estimate has not yet been released.

The post said this was the second lifesaving effort by the shift firefighters in the past six months.

“So proud of the readiness and continuous preparation from Roy City Fire Crews,” the post said. “Sounds like Roy Fire is not always a defensive tactic fire department and has proven to save lives. Proud of our Department. Roy residents, we serve to protect you and we love doing so.”
