WOODS CROSS, Utah (Gephardt Daily) — A Woods Cross man has been arrested on charges that he raped a girl and a boy numerous times over a five-year period.
Michael Hepworth, 54, is believed to have first raped the victims when the girl was 12 and the boy was 8. Arresting documents say the man gave alcohol to one or both victims on at least one occasion.
The children, now teenagers, reportedly confided in their mother, who contacted the Woods Cross Police Department.
Child pornography was found in a search of Hepworth’s home, according to officers.
Hepworth, arrested Monday, remains in the Davis County jail on three counts of first-degree child rape and three counts of third-degree sexual abuse of a child. His bail is set at $50,000.
