SALT LAKE CITY, Utah, Sept. 13, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — Police are seeking a vehicle of interest after a Woods Cross motorcycle rider died Tuesday in an accident in downtown Salt Lake City.
Wade Hugoe, 53, died shortly after the accident, which happened at about 4:35 p.m.
Detective Greg Wilking, Salt Lake City Police Department, told Gephardt Daily that Hugoe was northbound on 300 West, and suffered fatal injuries while in the road’s 200 South intersection.
“He was transported to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead,” Wilking said.
“There is evidence he was braking. We don’t know if he was trying to avoid something.”
The SLCPD later posted on its Twitter account that officers were trying to find a vehicle of interest: a black 1996 Toyota Corolla with Utah license plate W013JC.
The car is believed to have passenger-side damage, the tweet said, and is a “vehicle of interest in fatal traffic incident.”
