Work begins this week on Mountain View Corridor, 4100 S to SR-201

MOUNTAIN VIEW CORRIDOR, April 9, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — In mid-April, hauling activities will begin on Mountain View Corridor from 4100 South to State Route 201, the Utah Department of Transportation tweeted Tuesday.

“Flagging operations are projected to be in place from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Friday and continue through the summer,” the tweet said.

Following are details on specific areas. All work is expected to begin this week.

Ascent Academy: Construction crews will be closing the western access to Ascent Academy beginning on April 11. This access is expected to remain closed through the Summer. Please access Ascent Academy from 5600 West during the closure.

Darle Avenue Area Street Closures: As part of construction of the Mountain View Corridor, several streets in the Darle Avenue and Hunter Park neighborhoods will be
permanently closed. The closures are projected to begin on April 11.

This includes Darle Avenue between the residential neighborhood and Hunter Park, all of 5750 West, and Masters Drive north of 3705 South. For access into these neighborhoods, please use 5700 West off of 3500 South, Cilma Drive, and 3575 South off of 5600 West.

The Darle Avenue and Masters Drive trail connections to Hunter Park will be closed in mid-April. There will be a future community crossing under the Mountain View Corridor that re-establishes this neighborhood connection.

2700 South: A temporary signal will be installed on 2700 South between Jacketta Lane and Anna Caroline Drive/Glen Eagle Drive. While crews are installing the signal and performing striping activities there may be intermittent shoulder and early morning lane closures. This work is expected to begin on April 11 and new traffic patterns to be in place with the new signals by April 15.

3100 South: A temporary signal will be installed on 3100 South between Burdock Drive and Glen Eagle Drive. While crews are installing the signal and performing striping activities there may be intermittent shoulder and early morning lane closures. This work is expected to begin on April 11 and new traffic patterns to be in place with the new signals by April 15.

3500 South: Utility investigations are projected to begin on 3500 South. Motorists can expect traffic shifts between 6000 West and 5600 West starting on April 10 between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3:30 p.m. while crews are in the area. This work is projected to be complete by mid-April.

A temporary signal will be installed on 3500 South between Hunter Park and 5700 West. While crews are installing the signal and performing striping activities there may be intermittent shoulder and early morning lane closures. This work is expected to begin on April 11 and new traffic patterns to be in place with the new signals by April 15.

4100 South: 
A new signal will be installed at the intersection of the Mountain View Corridor and 4100 south (between 6000 West and 5600 West). While crews are installing the signal and performing striping activities there may be intermittent shoulder and early morning lane closures. This work is expected to begin on April 11 and new traffic patterns to be in place with the new signals by April 15.
