SARATOGA SPRINGS, Utah, July 3, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — A construction worker who was hit by a large pipe in Saratoga Springs has been transported by medical helicopter to a local hospital.
The accident happened Wednesday afternoon when work crews at the site, near 16100 South and Camp Williams Road, was attempting to maneuver a heavy section of pipe into place in a trench that was four to five feet deep.
The suspended pipe began to swing, and struck and injured the worker, according to information released by the Saratoga Springs Fire officials.
A heavy rescue crew rescued the man from the trench, and he was transported with critical injuries that were not believed to be life threatening.
