WEST WENDOVER, Nev., Sept. 11, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A woman from Draper, Utah, was among two people killed Monday afternoon in a three-vehicle crash on Interstate 80 just west of the Nevada-Utah border.

Sgt. Jeff Howell, Nevada Highway Patrol, told Gephardt Daily that NHP received a report of a wrong-way driver on I-80 at about 3:45 p.m. (Pacific time).

The 76-year-old female driver, who was from Draper, was going east in the westbound lanes and crashed head-on into a Toyota sedan.

Howell said a westbound semi was in the left lane and also was involved in the head-on collision.

The female driver and the male driver of the Toyota both died at the scene.

The semi’s driver and a passenger in the Toyota suffered minor injuries.

Howell said the accident is still under investigation and the exact cause has not yet been determined. The names of the deceased were not released Monday night.
