WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah, April 24, 2018 (Gephardt Daily) — A West Valley City elementary school teacher has been charged with first degree-felony aggravated sexual abuse of a child after incidents allegedly involving one of his third-grade students.

A news release from West Valley City Police Department spokeswoman Roxeanne Vainuku said that on Sunday, police took a report from the parents of a 9-year-old boy regarding suspected sexual abuse of their child by the child’s teacher, Kyle Hill, 33.

The child is a student in Hill’s third-grade class at Endeavor Hall, a charter school located at 2614 Decker Lake Lane.

“WVCPD detectives interviewed the child and his parents and on Monday, detectives made contact with Hill and processed his classroom for evidence,” the news release said.

“During the course of this investigation, detectives gathered information that Hill had touched the child inappropriately. Investigators also believe that Hill took illegal pictures of the child on at least 10 different occasions.”

Hill was booked into the Salt Lake County Jail on one count of first-degree felony aggravated sexual abuse of a child and 10 counts of sexual exploitation of a child.

Due to Hill’s access to children as a school teacher, there is reasonable concern that other victims of abuse may exist, the news release said. Hill has worked as a teacher at Endeavor Hall for three years and before that, as a student teacher at Timpanogos Elementary School in Provo.

Anyone with information regarding potential victims is asked to contact West Valley City Police at 801-840-4000.

  1. Castrating this teacher would be a good start. Then taking away his teaching certification. Then banish him from Utah. After a long prison term.
