WEST VALLEY CITY, Utah, May 28, 2025 (Gephardt Daily) -- A motorcyclist was critically injured Wednesday afternoon in a collision with a passenger vehicle on Mountain View Corridor.

"At about 4 p.m., officers were dispatched to a traffic accident on Mountain View Corridor at about 2700 south," says a statement posted on a West Valley City Police's social media account.

"A passenger vehicle and a motorcycle were both headed northbound when, for an unknown reason, the two collided. The motorcycle driver was transported to the hospital in critical condition."

The driver of the passenger vehicle stayed on scene and is cooperating, the WVCPD statement says.

"An investigation into this accident is underway, but intoxication does not appear to be a factor at this time.

"Drivers will want to avoid northbound Mountain View Corridor between 3500 and 2700 south. The northbound lanes through this area will be shut down until at least 8 p.m.," the statement says.
