Sudden storm hits Washington County; house-sized boulder breaks free in Zion National Park

WASHINGTON COUNTY, Utah, Aug. 10, 2016 (Gephardt Daily) — A brief episode of extreme weather Wednesday afternoon flooded the main road through Zion National Park, as well as the downtown of nearby Springdale.

At about 3 p.m., Zion National Park’s Facebook page posted an alert of a flash flood warning.

Shortly afterward, the park closed.
