JAKARTA, Dec. 18 (UPI) — Three pilots and 10 other military personnel were killed when an Indonesian air force Hercules C-130 plane crashed in the remote Papua province.
The BBC said the aircraft was carrying food supplies from Timika to Wamena when it went down in mountainous terrain near its destination early Sunday.
Officials suspect bad weather was to blame for the crash during the short flight, which left Timika at 5:35 a.m.
CNN reported military personnel recovered the aircraft in the Lisuwa mountain area by 8:40 a.m.
