TOTTENHAM, London, Sept. 18, 2017 (Gephardt Daily) — Twenty five fire engines and about 120 firefighters are on the scene of a warehouse fire in Tottenham, in the north part of London, at 11:30 p.m. local time (4:30 p.m. Mountain Time) on Monday.

Half the single-floor warehouse and storage units are on fire, according to a tweet from the London Fire Brigade.

Station Manager, Sam Kazmanli is at the scene, he said: “This is a large fire, cylinders are involved so a hazard zone has been set as cylinders can explode when exposed to heat,” station manager Sam Kazmanli said in the statement.

“There is a lot of smoke in the air. As a precaution, local residents are advised to keep their windows and doors closed. Crews will be working hard through the night to bring this blaze under control.”

First responders were called to the scene just after 8 p.m. London time. Firefighters from surrounding areas also responded. The cause of the fire is not known at this stage.
