May 25 (UPI) — A 90-year-old movie theater undergoing refurbishment in Argentina collapsed Thursday, killing at least three people, local officials said.
Workers were inside the structure when the brick building collapsed in northern Argentina’s Tucumán. Rescue workers said they feared people could be trapped under the rubble.
The building housed the Florencio Parravicini theater before it was turned into a Chinese restaurant and later a bowling alley and bar, Argentinian news outlet Clarin reported. It was not in public use at the time of the collapse.
Firefighters were investigating the cause of the collapse.
