MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif., Oct. 29 (UPI) — A new study by Adobe’s Marketing Cloud service revealed consumer electronics will likely be the most purchased items this holiday season.

The data showed 76 percent of online holiday purchases were mostly centered around consumer electronics, with gift cards being the next most purchased item.

The Marketing Cloud service has tracked more than one trillion visits to 4,500 websites since 2008. The service also analyzes 80 percent of online purchases made at 100 of the largest retailers.

Twice reported the findings corroborate those of a study done earlier this month by the International Council of Shopping Centers which said 51 percent of consumers plan to purchase consumer electronics during the holidays.

The study also predicts sales on Cyber Monday (Nov. 30) will reach three billion dollars, a 12 percent increase from 2014. Online Black Friday shopping will lag behind Cyber Monday at $2.7 billion but will outdo it in 2016.

Total holiday sales are estimated at $83 billion and mobile devices will be the tool of choice for online shoppers, as 51 percent of e-commerce will stem from phones and tablets.

Adobe also said most online purchases will be conducted on iOS devices as opposed to Android devices.

Adobe also pointed out certain items it anticipates will be hot sellers, including the Apple Watch, GoPro, Apple TV, Chromecast, Kindle, and others.
