April 8 (UPI) — At least one person was killed on Saturday in an airstrike on the same Syrian town that was struck by a chemical attack earlier in the week.
Witnesses said the airstrike on the town of Khan Sheikhoun killed one woman and injured at least three other people. No one has claimed responsibility.
Activist Alaa Al-Youssef told CNN the strike that killed the woman took place in a residential area.
The rebel-held Syrian town in the Idlib province was struck by a devastating chemical attack on Tuesday that killed more than 80 people and left hundreds wounded.
On Thursday night, President Donald Trump ordered the firing of 59 Tomahawk cruise missiles into a west Syrian airfield believed to be the source of the deadly chemical attack.
