May 23 (UPI) — Three people were killed and at least eight others were injured in a shooting at an Ohio bar early Sunday morning, police said.

Officers responded to reports of a shooting at the Torch Club Bar & Grille in Youngstown, Ohio, shortly after 2 a.m., the Youngstown Police Department said.

Injured victims were taken to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital and police did not immediately release details about their conditions.

Detectives said there was an argument in the area near the bar that led to “an exchange of gunfire.”

A four-car crash took place across the street from the bar after shots were fired, and a two car crash several blocks east left one person dead and another hospitalized.

Authorities were not immediately sure whether anyone involved in the shootings was involved in the four-car crash but said a victim in the two-car crash was one of the shooting victims.

Police detained the driver of an SUV a few blocks west of the club.
