NEW YORK, Oct. 13 (UPI) — Dey Street Books, publishers of such memoirs as Amy Poehler‘s Yes Please and YouTube star KSI’s I Am a Tool, has announced the upcoming release of singer Bobby Brown‘s memoir.
According to a brief statement on the Dey Street Books tumblr page, the Harper-Collins publishers will print My Prerogative, named after Brown’s famous single.
The announcement of the celebrity’s upcoming book comes after his daughter Bobbi Kristina Brown’s recent death. In the premier episode of The Real, Brown recounted the months leading up to his 22-year-old daughter’s death, saying “we prayed and hoped for six months…for something better to happen.”
“But when God calls you, he calls you,” he added. “I’m pretty sure her mother [Whitney Houston]…had a part with like: ‘Come on. Let’s get her up here.'”
Brown’s ex-wife Houston died in 2012 after drowning in a hotel bathtub. Bobbi Kristina was also found face-down in a bathtub in January and was announced to have suffered from “irreversible brain damage,” in April. The young celebrity was pronounced dead in July six months after being found.
