Breaking: Multiple casualties reported in Dutch tram shooting

UTRECHT, Holland, March 18, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Police in Holland say multiple people have been injured in a shooting in Utrecht 25 miles south of Amsterdam.

In a posting on social media, Dutch authorities say they have activated the nation’s crisis team and that they “cannot rule out terrorist motive.”

The shooting happened about 10:45 a.m. Monday near 24 October Square when a gunman or gunmen opened fire inside a tram.

“Several shots were fired and several people were injured,” according to an Utrecht police spokesman.

Local media outlets are reporting one person has been killed.

Nearby schools have been placed on high alert as police conduct fan out across the area in pursuit of the possible suspect or suspects.
