TANTAI, China, Dec. 24 (UPI) — A Chinese fisherman proudly showed off his unique catch after reeling in a massive swamp eel measuring nearly 6 1/2 feet long.
The animal was identified as a swamp eel, a species native to Asia.
Swamp eels, also known as rice eels, average about 3 1/4 feet long.
A video filmed Tuesday in Tantai, Shandong Province, shows the fisherman proudly holding his catch.
