May 25 (UPI) — A Colorado man accused of killing his fiancee pleaded not guilty Friday to charges related to her death and disappearance.
Teller County District Court Judge Scott Sells scheduled the trial for Patrick Frazee, 32, for Oct. 28, court spokesman Rob McCallum said in a tweet.
Frazee faces one count of first-degree murder, three counts of solicitation to commit first-degree murder and one count of first-degree felony murder for the death of Kelsey Berreth.
Berreth was reported missing Dec. 2, more than a week after she was last seen grocery shopping with her 1-year-old daughter. Her mother told police she was having a difficult time getting in touch with her daughter.
Krystal Jean Lee Kenney, an Idaho nurse who said she had a romantic relationship with Frazee, told police he asked her to kill Berreth multiple times. He allegedly asked Kenney to clean up his Woodland Park, Colo., home after he beat Berreth to death with a baseball bat on Thanksgiving day.
Kenney said she brought gloves, a protective body suit and trash bags and used cleaner to wipe down walls, a couch, a refrigerator, the floors and chairs. She later showed authorities several locations where she intentionally left blood splatter to lead them to evidence.
Kenney said she watched as Frazee burned Berreth’s body two days after her death in a cattle water trough on his ranch.
