MANCHESTER, England, Aug. 31 (UPI) — Natalia Strelchenko, a 38-year-old world-renowned concert pianist of Russian origin, was found dead with head injuries in her Manchester, England, home on Sunday.
“Natalia was a talented, beautiful, much loved mother, daughter, sister and friend. She will be greatly missed,” her family said in a statement, BBC News reported.
Strelchenko, who also went by the surname Strelle, made her debut with the St. Petersburg Symphony Orchestra at age 12. She performed throughout Europe and Japan. She also performed at Carnegie Hall in New York. She was educated at the St. Petersburg State Conservatory and the Norwegian Academy of Music.
Strelchenko had been scheduled to play several concerts later this year, including venues in Norway, France and the UK. She also worked as an artistic director at the Menestrelles International Chamber Music Academy.
