Fire At Thermal Power Plant In Chile Forces Evacuation Of 150 Workers

SANTIAGO, Chile, June 28 (UPI) — A fire at a Colbún thermal power station in Quillota, Chile, on Tuesday forced the evacuation of about 150 employees.

The fire began at about 10:30 a.m. local time. There were no injuries. Access to electricity should not be affected by the fire, authorities said.

The government of Quillota said the fire brought under control at about noon. An investigation into the cause of the fire has been launched.
