Firefighters cut through concrete to free girl’s head from barrier

TIANJIN, China, Aug. 16 (UPI) — Emergency responders in China cut through concrete to rescue an 8-year-old girl whose head became trapped between two sections of a barrier.

Video of the rescue Friday in Tianjin shows a police officer holding the girl’s head still while firefighters work to free her from her predicament.

The firefighters ended up using construction equipment to cut through the concrete and remove a pillar.

The rescue took about five minutes and the girl was freed without injuries.
