Oct. 15 (UPI) — An 8-year-old girl has died after falling from an inside deck on the Carnival Glory cruise ship.

Good Morning America reported the incident happened while the ship was docked at the Dante B. Fascell Port of Miami on Saturday morning.

“Our most heartfelt care and concern is with the family at this very difficult time,” Carnival Cruise Lines representative Jennifer de la Cruz said in a statement Saturday.

The Miami Herald said emergency workers called to the scene performed CPR on the child and transported her to Ryder Trauma Center where she died of her injuries.

How the child fell about 20 feet to a deck below is under investigation. Her name has not yet been released to the public.
