CHUBBUCK, Idaho, June 14, 2019 (Gephardt Daily) — Idaho State Police are investigating a fatal accident Friday in Chubbuck, just north of Pocatello.
Carlos Lopez, 27, of Aberdeen, Idaho, was driving north on Philbin Road at about 3:50 a.m. when his vehicle went off the right shoulder.
Lopez overcorrected, and the car went back across the roadway and off the left shoulder, then rolled. It came to rest on its wheels and caught fire.
Lopez, who was not wearing a seatbelt, was ejected and died of his injuries on scene,.
The crash is under investigation by the Idaho State Police.
Chubbuck is about four miles north of Pocatello and 108 miles northwest of Logan, Utah.
