July 14 (UPI) — Former President Jimmy Carter was back at a Canadian construction site Friday, one day after he was hospitalized with dehydration, Habitat for Humanity said.
The 92-year-old collapsed in Winnipeg on Thursday while on a build site for the charity, which he and his wife, Rosalynn Carter, have made a centerpiece of their post-White House work since 1984.
Habitat for Humanity announced the return of the 39th U.S. president Friday morning on Twitter and in a news release.
“President Jimmy Carter has arrived at the build site to start the final day of the 2017 #HabitatCWP in Canada,” the organization wrote.
The Carter Center later issued a statement saying the former president was released from St. Boniface General Hospital in Ontario on Friday morning. He attended a morning devotional to kick off the last day of the Jimmy and Rosalynn Carter Work Project.
“He and Mrs. Carter extend their appreciation for the many well-wishes he received worldwide,” the statement said.
