LONDON, Aug. 6 (UPI) — The 19-year-old man charged with the fatal stabbing of a U.S. tourist in London made an appearance in British court Saturday.

Zakaria Bulhan is charged with the murder of Darlene Horton and the attempted murder of five others in London’s Russell Square on Wednesday.

Bulhan appeared in court without representation and only spoke to confirm his name, address, and date of birth. He was remanded into custody and will return to court on Tuesday.

Bulhan, originally from Somalia, is a Norwegian national who moved to Britain in 2002.

Horton was vacationing in London with her husband, a psychology professor at Florida State University in Tallahassee.
