June 9 (UPI) — A manhunt ended Saturday for the fugitive wanted in connection of a shootout in Indiana that critically wounded a Chicago-based officer during an undercover firearms sting.

The Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives agent, who was not identified due to the nature of his work, was shot in the chest and arm, according to the ATF.

“He is going to make a full recovery,” said Celinez Nunez, special agent in charge.

Bernard Graham, of Calumet City, Ill., surrendered to authorities Saturday.

tweet from the AFT confirmed the 25-year-old wanted man “is now in custody.”

The federal agency was offering $25,000 for information leading to his capture.

According to federal prosecutors, on Thursday, Leondrey Smith, 29, met with an ATF undercover officer in Lansing, Ill., and then went to Gary, Ind., with the intent to buy illicit firearms from Raymond Truitt, 28.

During the purchase, as an informant went outside to retrieve the money from the undercover agent, 19-year-old Blake King handed the informant a bag that he said contained the guns, but it contained kitchen pots and pans instead, at which point a firefight ensued, according to authorities.

Truitt was killed in the shootout. Smith was being held but had not been charged Saturday.
