Dec. 2 (UPI) — The number of missing people in California’s Camp Fire fell to 25, authorities said.
Butte County Sheriff’s office shared the update Saturday night, noting that 3,141 previously missing people have been accounted for in the blaze that became the largest and deadliest in the state’s history, killing 88 people.
No human remains were found Saturday.
The sheriff’s office added that of the 88 people who were killed, 42 had been tentatively identified and 41 had been positively identified.
The Butte County Sheriff also lifted and reducing evacuation orders in several zones throughout the state.
The Camp Fire began on Nov. 8 and was 100 percent contained 17 days later on Nov. 25.
In all, the blaze burned 153,336 acres, and destroyed 13,972 residences, 528 commercial building and 4,293 other structures.
