CUPERTINO, Calif., Aug. 27 ( Danielle Haynes ) — Apple announced Thursday that “something big” is happening Sept. 9, likely the launch of the new iPhone model. Just ask Siri about it.
The company sent out invitations to the press and tech analysts Thursday morning for an unspecified media event next month. Though Apple hasn’t officially announced what will be revealed, most experts believe the iPhone 6S will be introduced with a faster processor and a more sophisticated camera.
Invitations encouraged Apple enthusiasts to ask Siri for a hint about the event, which will be held at the Bill Graham Civil Auditorium in San Francisco. The statement, “Hey, Siri, give us a hint,” will be met with one of a number of responses vaguely referring to Sept. 9.
“Look deep within yourself and you will find the answer,” one response from Siri says. “Especially on Sept. 9.”
In another response, she says, “Well, I hear there’s something big happening on September 9.”
Some experts predict Siri will get a big upgrade in the next version of iPhone’s software, iOS 9. She could also be headed to Apple’s rumored TV set-top box, which could be unveiled next month, Time reported.
“Why don’t you check a rumors blog? That’s what I do,” Siri suggests.
