March 12 (UPI) — Members of an Atlanta news team paid tribute to the Notorious B.I.G. by working the rapper’s lyrics into their morning traffic reports.
Fred Blankenship and Mark Arum, of WSB-TV, honored Biggie Smalls on the 20th anniversary of his death by slyly inserting his lyrics into traffic reports.
“Yesterday we had B-I-G-G-I-E delays on the west side,” Arum said.
“Delays right now on Georgia 400 and if you don’t know, now ya know, about those” Blankenship said.
The anchors, who previously performed a similar on-air tribute to A Tribe Called Quest rapper Phife Dawg, worked in references to Biggie songs, including “Juicy,” “Hypnotize,” and “Only You” during the morning broadcast.
