One dead after ‘homemade’ aircraft crash in Missouri

Dec. 3 (UPI) — One person died after a small homemade aircraft crashed into a cornfield, Missouri Highway Patrol said.

The plane’s sole passenger, 65-year-old Randal K. Reynolds, was pronounced dead at the scene after his “homemade ultralight” aircraft crashed near a local highway south of St. Joseph at about 3 p.m.

The plane was destroyed after crashing in a field west of the road.

No other injuries were reported in the crash.

Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Buchanan County Sheriff’s Department were investigating the incident.
