SHANGHAI, Oct. 13 (UPI) — Soft-drink maker PepsiCo will release their own smartphone next week, called the Pepsi P1.

Tech blog Mobipicker first caught wind of the news when it found a PepsiCo China Weibo page — Weibo is China’s version of Facebook — devoted to a “Pepsi phone” with the tags “IT,” “Internet,” “Electronic Products” and “Mobile Phone Manufacturers.”

The phone’s specifications were later revealed to include a 5.5-inch screen with a 1.7 gigahertz processor, two gigabytes of memory and 16 gigabytes of internal storage. It also comes with Android 5.1 Lollipop operating system and a 3,000 milliamp-hour battery. It is scheduled to go on sale exclusively in China on Oct. 20 for $205.

The page also referenced China’s Shenzhen Technology Co., which currently works with companies like Konica Minolta, Brother Industries and Xiaomi. However, Pepsihas not specified the make or name of the phone or the company producing it.

The news follows the announcement of a limited supply of the formerly-fictional Pepsi Perfect, a special branding effort aimed at celebrating Back to the Future Dayon Oct. 21, which is the day that the film’s character Marty McFly arrives in the year 2015. 6,500 collectible bottles will be sold online at $20.15 a piece, packing 210 calories. Some were given away to the first 200 fans dressed as Marty McFly at the New York Comic Con which took place Oct. 8 to 11.

In April of 2011, Pepsi also experimented with a Social Vending System that allowed users to gift drinks to friends by way of an interactive touch-screen machine that also showed nutritional facts.
