Producers Guild of America honors ‘La La Land,’ ‘Atlanta,’ ‘Stranger Things’

Jan. 29 (UPI) — The Producers Guild of America honored the contemporary musical La La Land with its Darryl F. Zanuck Award for Outstanding Producer of Theatrical Motion Pictures in Los Angeles Saturday night.

The Netflix series “Stranger Things” earned the Norman Felton Award for Outstanding Producer of Episodic Television, Drama, and FX’s “Atlanta” won the Danny Thomas Award for Outstanding Producer of Episodic Television, Comedy.

“O.J.: Made in America” was recognized with the prize for Outstanding Producer of Documentary Theatrical Motion Pictures and “Zootopia” scored the Award for Outstanding Producer of Animated Theatrical Motion Pictures.

Actor Robert DeNiro and director Martin Scorsese also presented the David O. Selznick Award for Achievement in Producing Theatrical Motion Pictures to Irwin Winkler during the gala.

The Screen Actors Guild will hand out its awards for excellence in film and television acting on Sunday evening.
