CLINTON, Conn., July 24 (UPI) — The 18-year-old Connecticut teenager who gained national attention for posting a video of a drone firing a gun was arrested Thursday for allegedly assaulting police officers.

Police in Clinton told Austin Haughwout to meet them at the police station on charges he faced for a motor-vehicle offense.

When he got to the police station, Haughwout allegedly refused to obey the officer’s orders and he got into a physical altercation with officers as they attempted to restrain him.

The officers sustained minor injuries, CBS Connecticut reported.

Haughwout took to his YouTube account Thursday refuting the allegations, saying the police officers assaulted him “until I vomited and passed out.” He was taken to an area hospital where he was treated and released.

Earlier this month Haughwout posted a viral video to YouTube showing a drone firing a gun. The video had 2.9 million hits as of Friday evening.

The Federal Aviation Administration said it is investigating the video to determine whether any laws were violated. Police said Haughwout’s arrest Thursday was unrelated to the video.
