NEW YORK, Dec. 5 (UPI) — President-elect Donald Trump and his daughter, Ivanka Trump, met with Al Gore on Monday to discuss climate change in what the Democrat described as a “very productive session.”

The former vice president met with the 35-year-old businesswoman and socialite at Trump Tower in New York, before he spent some time with Trump himself.

It’s unclear specifically with Gore and Trump smoke about, but Trump spokesman Jason Miller told reporters Ivanka Trump intended to talk about the climate, which she wants to make one of her signature issues, The Hill reported.

Afterward, Gore did not elaborate on either discussion.

“I had a lengthy and very productive session with the President-elect,” he said after the meeting. “It was a sincere search for areas of common ground.

“I had a meeting beforehand with Ivanka Trump. The bulk of the time was with the President-elect, Donald Trump. I found it an extremely interesting conversation, and to be continued, and I’m just going to leave it at that.”

It’s unclear to what extent Trump’s adult children are expected to contribute to his administration after Inauguration Day. In July, Ivanka Trump introduced her father at the Republican National Convention in Cleveland. CNN reported she and her husband, Jared Kushner, are house hunting in Washington, D.C.

Trump has expressed skepticism toward climate change, as have many Republicans, leading many to question whether he might abandon or reverse some of President Barack Obama‘s climate-oriented policies.

Trump has already said he will scrap one such policy involving new EPA restrictions on the coal industry.
