April 17 (UPI) — An Indiana police department said a turkey crashed through the windshield of an SUV traveling at 55 mph and ended up in the rear hatch compartment.
The Danville Metropolitan Police Department said the turkey was attempting to fly across U.S. Highway 36 when it struck the windshield of the 2007 Chevy Tahoe, which was doing about 55 mph at the time.
The driver was treated for minor injuries from the broken glass of the windshield and the turkey, which did not survive the collision, ended up all the way in the back of the vehicle’s rear hatch compartment.
“We’d like to give you some tips on how to avoid something like this, but we’ve got nothing,” the department said.
