April 15 (UPI) — VSE Corporation is to supply and install a SMART-S Radar system on an Egyptian Oliver Hazard Perry-class frigate under a Foreign Military Sales support contract.

The delivery order from U.S. Naval Sea Systems Command International Fleet Support Program Office has a period of performance of 14 months and is worth $21.8 million.

The deal is one of a number of NAVSEA FMS delivery orders received by the company in the first quarter of 2017.

“We have started the year with strong bookings in support of our NAVSEA FMS program,” Maurice Gauthier, VSE’s chief executive officer, said in a press release. “Our NAVSEA FMS support team continues to provide exceptional service to our allied navies and we look forward to fulfilling our clients’ diverse requirements.”

The company said two others include provision of in-country follow-on technical support for Egyptian Osprey-class mine hunter coastal vessels. The support is to include vessel modernization, technical, logistics, training, facilities, and administrative support.

The Osprey-class orders are worth a combined total of $36.8 million. Additional NAVSE awards received in the first quarter of this year are worth $32.5 million, VSE said.
