CANBERRA, Australia, Dec. 2 (UPI) — A 12-year-old nature enthusiast in Australia shared video showing how he helped a pregnant stingray deliver her 12 babies.

Miller Wilson posted a video to YouTube showing an excursion to his “favorite stingray hunting spot,” where he searches for hours until he spots a mangrove stingray in the water.

Wilson jumps out of his kayak to catch the stingray with his bare hands and carry it back to shore, where he shows off the animal’s tail barb before releasing it back into the water.”

After going for a 30 minute walk up the beach, I came back to find a Stingray lying next to my Kayak!!” Wilson wrote in the video’s description.
.The boy said there appeared to be “something wrong” with the stingray and he soon determined the animal was pregnant.Wilson helped the stingray deliver 12 babies by pulling the first two newborns out the mother.”Although it looks like there was only 10, Big Mama gave birth to 2 more off camera,” he wrote.

Wilson said he spotted “Big Mama” taking a swim with her babies two days after the birth.
