61-Year-Old Maryland Man Brutally Beaten by Group of Teenagers: Arrests Made

DUNDALK, MARYLAND – May, 12, 2015 (Gephardt Daily) – A 61-year-old man is recovering after a vicious assault by a group of teenagers over his attempt to stop two girls from fighting.

According to the Baltimore County Police Department, seven arrests have been made and most of the teens involved have been charged with attempted murder and will be tried as adults.

The incident, which happened April 22, 2015 left the victim in very critical condition and in a medically induced coma for several weeks. Fletcher suffered two broken eye sockets, a  broken nose,  broken ribs, bleeding on the brain, and many lacerations in the attack as well as needing a blood transfusion.

According to the police,  the victim, identified as Richard Fletcher, was in his home when he heard a commotion outside. He then observed two juvenile females fighting on his vehicle surround by a large group of juveniles. He asked the juveniles to move away from his truck and tried to break up the fight. The juveniles then began to assault him, it has been reported that as many as 39 teens were involved in the attack.

The teens arrested are:

Andrew Omar Allen (15 – charged as an adult) has been charged with attempted first-degree murder, robbery, and related charges. He is being held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center.

Yahkeem Zavion Wheatley (15 – charged as an adult) has been charged with attempted first-degree murder, robbery, and related charges. He is being held on $200,000 bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center.

Samtoya Isiah Wiliams (17 – charged as an adult) has been charged with first-degree assault, second degree assault, and robbery. He is being held at the Baltimore County Detention Center on $1 million bail.

Mya Lashae Stewart (15 – charged as an adult) was originally charged as a juvenile on April 24. On May 4, she was indicted by a Baltimore County Grand Jury. She is now charged as an adult with attempted first-degree murder, robbery, and related charges. Her current custody status is unknown.

Antoine Willie Lawson (17 – charged as an adult) was originally charged as an adult with first and second degree assault. On May 4, he was indicted by a Baltimore County Grand Jury. He is now charged with attempted first-degree murder, robbery, and related charges. His current custody status is unknown.

Detectives have obtained an arrest warrant for Keenan Tylike Holloway (20) in connection with this incident. He is currently in custody in Baltimore City on unrelated charges.

Detectives also arrested a seventh suspect ths morning. His information will be released after he has a bail hearing.

No more arrests are expected.
