Boston High School Dean Accused Of Running Drug Ring, Shooting Student
BOSTON, March 7 (UPI) — A minister and former dean of students at The English High School of Boston was arrested on charges he allegedly ran a drug operation and shot a student “execution-style.”
Shaun Harrison, 55, pleaded not guilty to charges that include assault with intent to murder, aggravated assault and battery and unlawful possession of a firearm. Authorities said Harrison ran a marijuana distribution ring and enlisted the 17-year-old victim, a student, to work for him.

Authorities said Harrison lured the 17-year-old to a local street with the promise of drugs and girls. Harrison allegedly pulled out a handgun and shot the student in the back of the head. The victim was taken to a nearby hospital and treated.
Harrison has long been highly regarded in the local community, lauded for his work as the school’s dean of academy, a student-outreach coordinator and minister. He has worked for Boston Public Schools since 2010 and started working at English on Jan. 5. He was fired after the arrest.
The Rev. Dr. Gregory Groover, pastor of the Charles Street AME Church where Harrison attended services, said he was stunned by the allegations.
“He seemed to consistently care with a deep heart for saving young people who were in the streets or gang related, prison-involved,” Groover said. “That was the population that his life seemed to center around.”
